i need to write about the first established female artist, at what point she became recognized, and some of the ways her talents were encouraged throughout her life.
first i need to make sure if its Judith Leyster. if it is then i know that her work got discovered when officials at Louvre museum were cleaning a work that everyone thought was painted by Frans Hals. they saw that the signature on the painting belonged to a women...i need help getting more information. :)

Recorded history gives us the fact that there were many female artists, but the first to be recorded in written history was Timarete. You can Google her. This was about 2000 years before Leyster.
