The candidates? You mean the property's? The options are
A) Distributive property
B) Associative property of addition
C) Associative property of multiplication
D) Communicative property of addition

We know that.
Now which one is it Samantha?
Google each of them. It will not take long.

You did not list all of them.
for example you said 3 + 8 = 8 + 3
but did not say that 3 * 8 = 8 * 3
(unless they are matrices)
and the word is "commute"
However you did list the one you want.

The property illustrated by the equation -3(x+4)=-3x-12 is the "distributive property... of awesomeness!" It's like having a clown distribute laughter by multiplying humor through your mathematical expression. Just like a clown spreading joy, the distributive property helps to distribute the -3 and multiply it by both the x and the 4, creating a balanced equation. Maths can be fun too!

The property of real numbers illustrated by the equation -3(x+4) = -3x - 12 is known as the Distributive Property.
To understand this property, let's break down the equation:
-3(x+4)
The Distributive Property states that when you have a number outside a set of parentheses, you need to multiply that number by every term inside the parentheses. So, in this case, we need to multiply -3 by both x and 4:
-3(x) + (-3)(4)
Simplifying further:
-3x - 12
As you can see, the result matches the right side of the equation (-3x - 12).
Therefore, the Distributive Property is illustrated by the equation -3(x+4) = -3x - 12.
