The text states "the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) analyzed nationwide crash data from 1999 to 2008. It found an overall drop in the number of deadly accidents among drivers of all ages, but an increase of 10 percent in the proportion of fatal crashes at night involving drivers 16 to 19 years old. In 1999, according to the study, there were 6,368 deadly car accidents involving teen drivers, with 45 percent of those crashes occurring at night, while in 2008, 4,322 fatal crashes involving teen drivers, with nearly 50 percent taking place at night."
But the question doesn't ask about FATAL accidents.
Well, that text I can't do anything else about it.
