He creates a mood of suspense by explaining what leads up to the fight. The author also states "I just walked forward toward my fate, with the blood in my temples pounding so hard I thought I was going to pass out."

I agree with @Cat117, but if you want to type a different answer you could say that the author created a mood of anger because of the fight in the story "Pigman and Me" anger lead up to an argument and the argument leading up to the fight.
