jim's rate = driveway/50
combined rate = driveway/55 + driveway/50
= 21driveway/550
so combined time = driveway/(21driveway/550)
= 550/21 minutes or 26.2 minutes
jim's rate = driveway/50
combined rate = driveway/55 + driveway/50

so combined time = driveway/(21driveway/550)
