If x - y = 9, find the maximum value of xy^2

Never seen this type of question before, any help? Thanks!

since x = y+9, you want the maximum value of

(y+9)y^2 = y^3+9y^2

Not sure what tools you have for finding the maximum, but a quick derivative will show that it is at
x = 3
y = -6
