Answered by Ms. Sue
12 -(1/2 + 2/3)

First do the math in the parentheses.

1/2 = 3/6
2/3 = 4/6
3/6 + 4/6 = 7/6 = 1 1/6

12 - 1 1/6 = 10 5/6
