Alliteration is the repetition of consonant sounds, and I hear none of that here. I hear assonance (repetition of vowel sounds) but not alliteration.

Read up on the two remaining answer choices, and choose wisely.

I do not think it is simile because it does not have the word 'like' in it nor does it compare anything. I think your best bet is an oxymoron because it is kind of contradicting itself. First ask yourself what slander is and why it would be an oxymoron if the media did not say anything in response.
