Jean deposited a check for $625, wrote two for $68.74 and $29.95 and used her debit card to pay for a purchase of $57.65. How has her account balance changed?

Do I subtract 68.74 twice, since it said two for 68.74?

I think they meant two checks for amounts of 68.74 and 29.95, NOT two for 68.74.

You also have to subtract the debit card purchase, which is the same as writing a check that is immediately cashed.
