Since this is not my area of expertise, I searched Google under the key words "<I>genetic diversity sexual reproduction</I>" to get these possible sources:

https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=genetic+diversity+sexual+reproduction&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

In the future, you can find the information you desire more quickly, if you use appropriate key words to do your own search. Also see http://hanlib.sou.edu/searchtools/.

Don't just copy the material. Express the ideas in your own words. Although this will take more time and effort, you will learn more.

Two parents are required for asexual reproduction to occur. The 23 chromosome numbers of sex cells or gametes are divided in half during mitosis. Two sex cells, one from each parent, fuse to form a being with half the cells. Because offspring inherit chromosomes from two parents, genetic diversity is increased.

I thought it happened in the process of meiosis???
adding more on............ They get genes from both sides which change change how they look. Like with animals of different species they would be half of both. With plants it will have colors and height like both plants.

Sexual reproduction provides genetic diversity because the sperm and egg that are produced contain different combinations of genes than the parent organisms. Sexual reproduction involves meiosis, which is the process of a cell doubling its DNA, shuffling its genes, and then dividing the shuffled DNA among four cells.
