adding 4 ... −2x − 10 > 3x
adding 2x ... − 10 > 5x
dividing by 5 ... − 2 > x
adding 2x ... − 10 > 5x
dividing by 5 ... − 2 > x

−2x − 14 > −4 + 3x
Subtract 3x from both sides.
Add 14 to both sides.
-5x > 10
Divide both sides by -5.
But these things will change direction of the inequality:
Multiplying or dividing both sides by a negative number
Swapping left and right hand sides
x < -2
Subtract 3x from both sides.
Add 14 to both sides.
-5x > 10
Divide both sides by -5.

Multiplying or dividing both sides by a negative number
Swapping left and right hand sides
x < -2
