ABCD is a square and P, Q are the midpoint of BC, CD respectively .if AP =a and AQ=b, find in terms of a and b , the directed line segments (i) AB, (ii) AD , (iii) BD and (iv) AC

well, you can start out by defining a and b.
a = AB + BC/2 = AB - CB/2
b = AD + DC/2 = AD - CD/2
See what you can do with that, and
AC = AB+BC
BD = AD-BC
a = AB + BC/2 = AB - CB/2
b = AD + DC/2 = AD - CD/2
See what you can do with that, and
AC = AB+BC
BD = AD-BC
