Can someone explain how to solve this?

7 answers

32-q+0.25q=15.50

32 - 1.25q = 15.50

-1.25q = -16.5

q = 13.2
Subtract your 32 from 15.5, then add the q numbers together. divide. Plug back in to check.
unknown on one side, numbers on the other

-q + 0.25q = 15.50 - 32

consolidate ... -0.75q = -16.50

divide by -0.75
Yeah But I dont under stand how q + -.25q is equalled to -0.75q
it's ... -q + 0.25q
I think Scott is right. -1 + 0.25 = -0.75
Right I forgot that it still means one.
