Ms. Sue
2.5 l = 2,500 ml
(2,500 - 100) / 4 = _______ ml
(2,500 - 100) / 4 = _______ ml

What happened to the 100 ml that were split ? If they were given as part of the share , why not just do
2500 ml ÷ 4 = 625 ml per child
or
100 ml ÷4 = 25 ml
remaining 2400 ml ÷ 4 = 600 ml, and of course
600 ml + 25 ml = 625 ml , same as above
2500 ml ÷ 4 = 625 ml per child
or
100 ml ÷4 = 25 ml
remaining 2400 ml ÷ 4 = 600 ml, and of course
600 ml + 25 ml = 625 ml , same as above
Steve
clearly they meant "spilt" not "split"

Yes, indeed, it makes a difference if it is spilt or split (or slipt)
