order of operation

16 divided by 4 . 2=

I just did 16 divided by 4 which is 4 then multiply it by 2 which is 8

Am I right

actually multiplication and division are performed in the order they come, from left to right

so we have 16 ÷ 4 * 2
= 4 * 2
= 8
