-2(-4-6x)=-10+3x

4 answers

Just need on how to do it
- 2 ( - 4 - 6 x ) = - 10 + 3 x

( - 2 ) ∙ ( - 4 ) - 2 ∙ ( - 6 x ) = - 10 + 3 x

8 + 12 x = - 10 + 3 x

Subtract 3 x to both sides

8 + 12 x - 3 x = - 10 + 3 x - 3 x

8 + 9 x = - 10

Subtract 8 to both sides

8 + 9 x - 8 = - 10 - 8

9 x = - 18

Divide both sides by 9

x = - 18 / 9

x = - 2
Thanks, while working on the problem I subtracted -10 on both sides. And ended up with -2+9x(Don't know how that happened)
( - 2 ) ∙ ( - 4 ) - 2 ∙ ( - 6 x ) = - 10 + 3 x

8 + 12 x = - 10 + 3 x

You make mistake when you subtraced - 10 to both sides.

You must add 10 to both sides.

8 + 12 x + 10 = - 10 + 3 x + 10

18 + 12 x = 3 x

12 x - 3x = - 18

9 x = - 18

x = - 18 / 9 = - 2
