The average income of Ironville, Pennsylvania, is 24,000 a year. A new mill has brought in sic new incomes that increase the average to 32,000. If there were initially eight incomes in Ironville, what is the average income of six new families?

Its 192,000 dollars right?

original total = 8(24000) = 192000
after new increase: (192000+x)/14 = 32000
192000+x = 448000
x = 256000
so average of newcomers = 256000/6 = 42,666.67
