The LCM is 60.

60 min = 1 hour

Take note of the term "from" in the last part of the question - "...from 8 am to 11 am", and the idea LEAVE TOGETHER. 8 am is counted, so

8 am + 1 hour = 9 am
9 am + 1 hour = 10 am

8 am-9am-10am = 3 times

11 am will not be included because it is the cut off. If the two buses leave again at 11 am, the schedule will now be changed.

However, if the word "from" is replaced by "between" then the answer should be 2 times. The word BETWEEN indicates that the starting point is not included and the end point as well.

9 am and 10 am = 2 times
