multiply by [(x-2)(x+1)] ... common denominator
[x(x+1)] + [(x-1)(x-2)] = (x-2)(x+1)
multiply and collect like terms
you'll be solving a quadratic equation

you'll get a better answer if you don't forget that "-1" on the right:
[x(x+1)] + [(x-1)(x-2)] = -(x-2)(x+1)

[x(x+1)] + [(x-1)(x-2)] = -(x-2)(x+1)
