cost price of 12 books = 12x
selling price per book = (1.69)(.85)x
for every dozen sold he gives 1 away
selling price of 11 books = 11(1.69)(.85)x
percentage profit = 11(1.69)(.85)x / 12x = 1.31679
so he makes a 31.7 % profit, correct to 1 decimal
