m^2 + (-1+1)m + (-4-5)

You wrote the question wrong...
but start by simplifying

M^2 - m - 4 + m - 5 = m^2 + -m + -4 + m + -5

Now combine like terms:

m^2 + -m + -4 + m + -5
m^2 + -m + m + -4 + -5

Equals: m^2 -9
Answer
Add or subtract this 5
