a prism has a base and a height. What is the "other" part of 5?

If you mean the base is 12x5 and the height is 9, then the area is

two bases of 12x5 = 2*60 = 120
two faces of 12x9 = 2*108 = 216
two faces of 5x9 = 2*45 = 90
sum = 426
