The rms output in a circuit is 7.75 A. What is the maximum current?

7.75 * 1.414

If current = I sin wt
and
current = I R sin wt

then power = I^2 R sin^2 wt
average of sin^2 = (1/2)
so
average power = (1/2)I^2 R
= Irms^2 R
so I^2 = 2 Irms^2
and as we said to start
I = sqrt(2) Irms = 1.414 Irms
