Asked by M, S, E,

I have written an essay that is a couple page. I used Grammarly to check for errors but it says there are a bunch of advanced errors. I want to fix those ones but don't know what they are or where to look. Is there a website I can use to find these errors?

Grammarly is the only one I know about.

Did you write this in Word? If so, do you have the grammar and spell checker features turned on?

If you have the grammar checker turned on, the errors Word sees will have green underlining.

Check these things out and let us know what you find.

I do not have word. I looked around and Grammarly keeps coming up as the best. The only way it will show me the errors is if I sign up.

Of course! And I'm sure they want money!!

Have you tried OpenOffice? I used it several years ago, but I don't remember if it has a grammar checker or not.

I can't use open office.

What are you using, then, if not Word?

1. Someday you will be in the big school (college). Word or open office is a must.
2. Try this. http://www.reverso.net/spell-checker/english-spelling-grammar/
Paste text into the box, click check, then analyze it.

I mainly use chrome. This isn't my computer it's a school computer. I plan on getting a computer to get word in the future. Thanks for the help.

At the risk of sounding out of it, what is "chrome" if not the web browser?
Answered by M, S, E,
Oops, Sorry I meant to say Google docs. Chrome is my usual web browser.

Ahhhh, OK. That makes sense.

I have a granddaughter who writes her rough drafts in Googledocs on her phone (believe it or not!), and then transfers it all to Word for polishing.

I do believe it. Just yesterday I was working on my essay from my phone.
