6 cd+2b+9(cd+b/3)=A(3cd+b)

I'm really sorry this question seems really hard to me. But what I got as an answer is 6, ohh and I have another question. Can you use the distributive property on this problem? (Argh our class is getting ready for the PSAT!) And show me the work, I want to know if I got something wrong in my work lol sorry

hummm 6+9 IS NOT 18 BUT 15

6 c d + 2 b + 9 c d + 3 b = A(3cd+b)

15 c d + 5 b = A(3cd+b)

5 (3cd+b) = A(3cd+b)

A = 5

On the last thing which is 5 (3cd+b) = A(3cd+b), how did you get 5 as an answer? Can you teach me step by step? Sorry omg I'm so confused
Answered by Hatsune Miku
Did you divide something to get 5? But I don't see any division signs anywhere

I still don't get it... Sorry... Or did you cross both (3cd+b)'s and got your answer?

If 5 (3cd+b) = A(3cd+b)
divide both sides by (3cd+b)
then
A=5
Answered by Damon
divide both sides of
5 (3cd+b) = A(3cd+b)
by
(3cd+b)
