Well. If you missed 12 questions you got (60 - 12) correct. I.e. 48 questions were correct.
So, the fraction of questions answered corectly is:
(Number of Correct Questions)/(Total Number of Questions)
so that is:
48/60 which can be simplified as 12 divides evenly into both the numerator and the denominator so you get
4/5.
