two forces are acting on an object. F1= 60 N is horizontal while F2= -80N is vertical, what is the magnitude of the net force acting on the object?

The answer is 100 N, can some one please explain it though?

the forces are vectors that add by Pythagoras

60^2 + 80^2 = 100^2
