A) Write a balanced chemical equation for the reaction between sulfuric acid and potassium hydroxide.
I got H2SO4 + KOH ---> H2OH + KSO4
B) Write the ionic equation for the reaction.
H2 + S2O4-2 + K + OH- ---> H2 + OH + K2SO4-2
C) Write the net ionic equation
I'm not sure if B is right so I can't do this one
A is incorrect. Both the products and the balancing are incorrect. What is H2OH? What is KSO4. The products are H2O and K2SO4. I will leave it for you to balance. To balance, YOU MAY NOT CHANGE any of the subscripts; you may change ONLY the coefficients.
For B, you put the molecules in the form of ions.
2H^+ + SO4^-2 + 2K^+ + 2OH^- ==> 2H2O + 2K^+ + SO4
For C, look at the answer for B I have written above, cancel ions that are on both sides of the equation. What is left is the net ionic equation. (For example, the SO4^-2 is on the leeft AND on the right, so cancel it. Etc.)
C'mon. You're making it too hard.
Put a 2 in front of KOH and a 2 in front of the H2O and that's it. Check my work to make sure it's right.
I have tried and tried but I can NOT balance this equation I just cant figure this thing out. can someone please help me
H2SO4 + KOH ---> H2O + K2SO4
your right. I just kept looking at it wrong for some reason thanks.

H2SO4 + K=====>KSO4 + H2. Ionic equation:..... H2SO4 + K*===>K*(aq) +SO4(aq)+H2. Net eqn. H2SO4===>SO4^2- + H2........I'm confused because I've Cross 2(K*),but not satisfied with the net ionic equation.Please could someone help me recheck my answer?
