what is -3.5 + 17?
The online calculator says 13.5 and I don't get how that is the answer. I got 14.5 and I am confused. Please help me and explain this to me

13.5 is correct.

Let's add 14.5 and 3.5.

14 + 3 = 17. 0.5 + 0.5 = 1

17 + 1 = 18

Do you see how your answer was wrong?

I get it now and thanks. But, one more question, how do you get 13.5?
