Semicolon.
2a. The Bears lost the Super Bowl to Indianapolis; worse yet, I lost a bet with my brother about the outcome of the game.
2b. The Bears lost the Superbowl to Indianapolia; worse yet; I lost a bet with my brother about the outcome of the game.
Which is correct for the usuage of the Semicolon and why?

i see that there is 2 independent clauses, so i would use the semicolon, but the word between the 2 clauses, worse ye: or worse yet, is what is throughing me off.

Since "worse yet" is not an independent clause, you only need one semicolon in this sentence.
