Think about it like this. With 5 types of seeds, there are 5 choices for the 1st flower.
For the 2nd flower, there are only 4 choices.
For the 3rd flower there are 3 choices.
Now you know how many ways the 3 flowers can be planted. But if all you want is the combinations, the arrangement does not matter. So, take the total ways of planting the flowers, and divide by 6, since there are 6 different ways to arrange each selection of plants.
Now review your material on combinations. Here we have 5C3.
