A girl spends on fifth of the money in her purse. She then spends one fifth of what remains in the purse. She spends $72 in all. How much money did she have from the beginning?

1/5x + (1/5 * 4/5)x = 72
1/5x + 4/25x = 72
5/25x + 4/25x = 72
9/25x = 72
x = 72/(9/25)
x = 72 * (25/9)
x = 1800/9 = 200
1/5x + 4/25x = 72
5/25x + 4/25x = 72
9/25x = 72
x = 72/(9/25)
x = 72 * (25/9)
x = 1800/9 = 200
