LCD = 12
1 / 3 = 1 * 4 / 3 * 4 = 4 / 12
3 / 4 = 3 * 3 / 4 * 3 = 9 / 12
5 / 12 = 5 / 12
1 / 2 = 1 * 6 / 2 * 6 = 6 / 12
5 / 6 = 5 * 2 / 6 * 2 = 10 / 12
1 / 3 = 1 * 4 / 3 * 4 = 4 / 12
3 / 4 = 3 * 3 / 4 * 3 = 9 / 12
5 / 12 = 5 / 12
1 / 2 = 1 * 6 / 2 * 6 = 6 / 12
5 / 6 = 5 * 2 / 6 * 2 = 10 / 12

one way is to write out the prime factors of all the denominators
3
2,2
2*2*3
2
2*3
so we will need two 2s and a three which is twelve
