How do you simplify radicals

look for factors so that at least one of the factors is a perfect square.

e.g.

162 = 9 * 18
= 9 * 9 * 2

so √162 = √9 * √9 * √2
= 3*3*√2
= 9√2

You can always check your answer using a calculator.

2*363 = 2 * 3 * 121
BUT
121 = 11*11 :)
so we have
1*3*11*11
=11^2 * 6
so sqrt(11^2 * 6) = 11 sqrt 6
