1st we add like terms>>
3.18x+0.9x+x=5.1x
>>5.1x=28-2.6
2nd we isolate x alone>>
>>5.1x=25.4
>>x=25.4/5.1
x=5

Subtract 2.6 to both sides
Divide both sides by 5.08 to get the solution for x

5.08x = 24.4
x = 24.4/5.08 = 5

Hali's equation of 5.1x = 25.4 -->(no idea where that came from ) does not yield the solution of x = 5 as he concluded.
