    let f(x) = x^3 + kx - 4
if x-2 is a factor, then f(2) = 0
f(2) = 8 + 2k - 4 = 0
2k = -4
k = -2

if x-2 is a factor, then f(2) = 0
f(2) = 8 + 2k - 4 = 0
2k = -4
k = -2
