So, why not use a 1?
|3y+4|-1 = 0
|3y+4| = 1
3y+4 = 1
3y = -3
y = -1
3y+4 = -1
3y = -5
y = -5/3
|3y+4|-1 = 0
|3y+4| = 1
3y+4 = 1
3y = -3
y = -1
3y+4 = -1
3y = -5
y = -5/3
