Which word best describes the tone created by these lines?

I would say counseling because when you read it out loud it sounds like you're consulting someone.

Ya but its consoling not consulting...and I feel that the last line that says the "bitter taste" of liberty shows a little resent maybe.....? What do you think?

I think Madison must have been answering on a "smart" phone or something that has auto-correct (odd term, when that often makes more mistakes than the writer intends!), thus ending up with words other than "consoling." Proofreading before hitting Send or Post is absolutely necessary when using those devices!!

"Impetuous son that tree young and strong. that tree there in splendid loveliness amidst white and faded flowers. that is Africa your Africa. that grows again patiently obstinately.
Up to here, the description is of strength and loveliness.
and its fruit gradually acquires the bitter taste of liberty."
And then we read this part, with "bitter" in it. What do you think, Stephany? Consoling or what?

Essay Question 24. Prompt 1. Two different young men and their fathers' personalities affected the events of the 2 stories. The commonality between the 2 stories is that both have young men who are worried about their fathers' disapproval of their wives. Their personalities affected what happened in the stories.
An example is one of the young men who were very unsociable and had it difficult for him to talk to his father about his wife, this led to his father's no acceptance of his wife.
