how do you find 30% of 500 without calculator?

also how would you find 0.5% of 3200 without calculator?

is there a formula? i don't know where to start. i know 30/100 would be 3/10 and 0.5 is 1/2

surely you can do 3*5
now just move the decimal point as needed.

.5% = 1/200
I'm sure you can do 3200/200

.5 is 1/2, but .5% is not.

10.00 - 8*0.82 = ?
