Question

Triangle ABC is dilated with a center at the origin and a scale factor of 2.

(Picture showing the coordinates A(-2,2) B(1,3) C(1,0)

What are the coordinates of triangle ABC?

Also, please don't give me the answer but can someone please explain to me how you would figure this out? The lesson is worded weirdly and I want to understand it not be given the answers. Thanks!

Steve
dilation relative to (0,0) just means you multiply all the coordinates by the dilation factor. You are increasing all the distance from the origin by the scale factor.

For example, with a scale factor of 3, (2,-12)->(6,-36)

With a scale factor of 1/4, (-12,8)->(-3,2)
