Calculate the molarity of 500 ml of a solution containing 100 grams of glucose (C6H12O6).

molarity=moles of solute/liters of solution

1 mol C6H12O6 = 180.15 g

so 100 g/180.15 g = 0.5551 mol C6H12O6

and 1 L = 1000 mL

also 500 mL of soln = 0.500 L
