The rectangular coordinates of a point are given (0,-6). Find polar coordinates of the point such that r greater than 0
and 0 less than or equals
theta less than 2pi.
how to solve this damon please help me

r = 6
straight down = (3/4)(2 pi)
= 3 pi/2 = 1.5 pi

Hey, sketch this stuff on a rough graph.

didnt get it
how r is 6 and from where does 3/4 come
if suppose that no are 3,-3root3 then?
Answered by Damon
x = 0
y = -6

that is 6 units directly below the origin
so
r = 6 = sqrt(0^2+6^2)

you are three quarters of the way around to two pi
Answered by Damon
you could say that r = -6 and theta = pi/2 but that is no good, r must be +

got it thank you
