I have some math problems that I really need help with and this is all new to me. The direction are as follows:
Combine like terms

7x4 -5x4 the number four is square root. I don't understand at all what to do. Please help.

(7 * √4) - (5 * √4) =

The book shows 7x square root 4 - 5x square root 4

That's the same as I posted.

The square root of 4 is 2.

This problem just calls for multiplication and subtraction. I'm sure you know how to do those two operations.
