    since the roots come in conjugate pairs,
y = (x+√3)(x-√3)(x-4i)(x+4i)
= (x^2-3)(x^2+16)
...
    
y = (x+√3)(x-√3)(x-4i)(x+4i)
= (x^2-3)(x^2+16)
