We only "solve" equations, you don't have an equation.

I will assume you meant:

m^2 + 6m + 7 = 0
m^2 + 6m + .... = -7 + .....
m^2 + 6m + 9 = -7 + 9
(m+3)^2 = 2
m+3 = ± √2
m = -3 ± √2
