What is the average rate of change of the function f, given by f(x) = x2 + 1, on the interval [2,5]?

Calculus: rate of change=2x
avg rate= (final+initial)/2=(10+4)/2= 7

F(5)=26
F(2)=5

avg change=(26-5)/(5-2)=7
