The variables p and q have the same numerical value but the opposite sign; that is, one is positive and the other is negative. If
-3*p + 4*q is positive, what can you say about p and q?

if p>0, then q<0 and -3p+4q is negative.
So, p<0 and q>0
-3p > 0
4q > 0
so -3p+4q > 0
So, p<0 and q>0
-3p > 0
4q > 0
so -3p+4q > 0
