I have also seen this referring to 0.<u>57</u> meaning a repeating decimal. In that case,
0.<u>57</u> = 57/99
because if
x = 0.<u>57</u>
100x = 57.<u>57</u>
now subtract and the .<u>57</u> part goes away and you are left with
99x = 57
