Ms. Sue please I need help with these two problems!
Tell whether the given number is a solution of each question
5b+1=16; -3
14=1/3x+5;27
8 answers
well, if it is actually
14 = (1/3) x + 5
or
14 = (x/3)+ 5
then that is
14 = (1/3)27 + 5
14 = 9 + 5 yes
however
14 is not 1/ (3*27) + 5
14 = (1/3) x + 5
or
14 = (x/3)+ 5
then that is
14 = (1/3)27 + 5
14 = 9 + 5 yes
however
14 is not 1/ (3*27) + 5
5b+1=16; -3 is wrong because 5*(-3)=(-15)+1 would equal -14. Question number two would be correct then. Am I correct Ms. Sue?
Yes, you're right.
Damon must have missed the minus sign.
Damon must have missed the minus sign.
Thank you Ms. Sue!
I did not miss a sign. 1/3x is not x/3
I'm sorry, Damon. I was looking at # 1 instead of # 2.
