Why did the Elizabethan period end?
I know that it ended with Queen Elizabeth I, but I need a more elaborate explanation of why that era ended?

The era ended with her death in 1603. If you study her reign, you will see it was a period of growth because religious strife was held in check, mainly, and the Catholic influence coming from Spain and France was held in check. Upon her death, James I became king, and his reign was quite different than Elizabeth. James was focused more on his reign and power than the country, whereas under Elizabeth, the focus was on Country.
